Beam of Light
I don't know what caused that vertical beam of light. It was visible to my own eyes. Made for a Stunning Sunset today. I used my Sears 135mm lens for this one. I'm really starting to appreciate the 135mm focal length.sunsetJune200920090619Pentaxist DLAdam Montoyapinksears135mm

I know the photo is dark in places. Plus it is not very viewable as a thumbnail, but I think It looks great full size.SunrisesunNew MexicoSandiasOctober2009Pentaxist DLAdam Montoya

Ants Marching with Desaturated background 'n gaussian blur - PESO | PDML
I don't know what kind of Ants these are(would love to know). What I used to capture them is this: 28mm Vivitar f2.8 lens (stopped down to f11), about 60mm of cheap eBay extension tube, and a Sigma EF-500 DG Super. The flash was off camera, triggered by some eBay radio triggers and was diffused by some disposable glasses cleaning cloth. The lens was almost scraping the ground. The photo was farther refined in GIMP with imput from members of the PDML mailing list.Ant28mmextension tubesmacroist DLPentaxAdam MontoyaApril2009New Mexicodesaturatedgaussian blurgimpPESOPDML

The lightning was getting a little close for comfort here in Algodones. I did think about changing the white balance to get rid of the purple, but I kind of like the color.Shocking Photo

In airsoft we have something called a minimum engagement distance(M.E.D. for short). This is a distance where using the gun is deemed safe to all the participants on the field. This player was shot from an airsoft gun which required a 100ft MED. The shot was made from significantly less than that, resulting in a torn nose. Obey the rules and things like this don't happen.2013-01-26 Torn nose 20130126Torn noseAirsoftPOTDPentaxAdam MontoyaAlex KAirsoft New MexicoOak Flats Paintballblood
